Keywords in Portuguese
Fiscalização de trânsito

Premiação a motoristas

Driver rewards as a traffic enforcement strategy

Abstract in English
The strategic interaction model between speeding enforcement and vehicle drivers proposed by Bertolai, Costa e Nakabashi (2021) is extended to the case of multiple drivers. Such a generalization is used to assess the effect of a policy awarding drivers who have not been fined by the inspectors, such as the National Positive Drivers Registry (RNPC), which came into force in Brazil in 2022. As a result, the prediction of the model is that for regions previously monitored with mobile radar an intensification in the use of fixed speed cameras in the relatively more dangerous locations induced by a sufficiently high reward and abandonment of the reward in other locations.
