A presente dissertação tem como objetivo apresentar as contribuições do artista Emeric Marcier. O estudo centra-se, especialmente, sobre o exame das pinturas realizados na Capela Cristo Rei (1946-1947), que pertenceu ao movimento da Juventude Operária Católica (JOC) e que, atualmente, é patrimônio do Hospital da Santa Casa de I Misericórdia de Mauá (SP). Nas paredes da capela estão 23 afrescos de Emeric Marcier que tratam das passagens bíblicas do Velho Testamento, vida, paixão, morte, ressurreição de Jesus Cristo e Apocalipse, do Novo Testamento. A análise dessa obra foi dividida em três capítulos. No primeiro, tratou-se sobre a formação do município de Mauá, considerando suas características de cidade industrial, dos operários e movimentos católicos, localizado no ABC Paulista. No segundo, explorou-se a biografia de Emeric Marcier, abordando, principalmente, aspectos estéticos da trajetória do artista. No terceiro, partiu-se para a reflexão sustentada nas relações existentes entre temas bíblicos, a técnica empregada e o processo poético do artista

The present paper contains as main purpose an exhibition Emeric Marcier' s works. Focus is a study about paintings realized inside King Christ Chapel (1946-1947) , which belonged to Labor Catholic Youth (JOC) and currently is a heritage of Santa Casa Hospital, in Maua-SP. In Chapel' s walls we can find 23 fresques of Emeric Marcier showing biblical texts of Old and New testament including Apocalypse text. The work was divided for analysis into three chapters: the first is about Maua settlement, their characteristics of industrial city, their workers and Catholic Movements located in ABC region. The second was given a special attention to Emeric Marcier's biography, his aesthetic aspects and his trajectory as artist. Finally, in the third chapter the connections conceming biblical subjects are supporting by his own technique used in his works and the poetic process of the artist
