Abstract in English
This thesis refers to the virtual relationship between the thought structured by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), developed primarily during the decade of the 1950's, and the renovation of the Marxist thought, observed in the 1960's and 1970's. The work was organized into four chapters, in addition to the introduction and conclusions, which cover the topics relevant to the investigation, and it adopts a perspective of historical construction of events: Marxism in Latin America (its reception and origins of the "two-stage theory"), ECLAC's analysis and proposals, Marxist thought in Latin America in the 1960's and 1970's, and the comparison between ECLAC's thought and the renewed Marxist thought. Methodologically, the contraposition between the two sets of analysis was constructed based on a significant array of works pertaining to each of the currents of thought, seeking correspondences between them. Apart from the similarities in the field of strictly economic analyses, the conclusions indicate a contribution - broad and diffuse - to the construction of the Latin American identity.
