O objeto da presente Tese é uma leitura autobiográfica da Cidade de São Paulo a partir do conceito de narcisismo na obra A negação da morte, de Ernest Becker, considerando a questão do Outro, em Lévinas. Desenvolvo inicialmente uma reflexão sobre a noção de mito e linguagem, para analisar o mito de Narciso, na passagem de Metamorphoses, de Ovídio, sua estrutura narrativa, bem como outras imagens do mito em obras relevantes na história da arte. No segundo momento, mapeamos as referências bibliográficas beckerianas para trazer à luz a apropriação do mito de Narciso pela prática psicanalítica e nos detemos na obra A negação da morte: uma abordagem psicológica sobre a finitude humana, seus fundamentos teóricos e seus desdobramentos nos cinquenta anos de sua premiação pelo Prêmio Pulitzer, especificamente na questão do narcisismo e do equilíbrio da libido na tópica ideal-do-eu e eu-ideal. Trata-se de uma cartografia espiritual, a unidade de uma proposição fundamental na diversidade de fenômenos e afetos. O corpo teórico estruturado em Ernest Becker fornece repertório para a leitura da cidade de São Paulo, especificamente na visada do arquiteto Aloysio Becker, meu pai. Ao final, o conceito de objeto será discutido em sua abordagem psicanalítica de objeto interno e objeto externo, para contemplar a obra Totalité et infini: Essai sur l'extériorité, de Lévinas e a questão da transcendência em Ernest Becker e Aloysio Becker

The object of this Thesis is an autobiographical interpretation of the São Paulo City inferred from the concept of narcissism in The denial of death, by Ernest Becker, considering the question of the Other, in Lévinas. I initially developed a reflection on the notion of myth and language, to analyze the myth of Narcissus in Metamorphoses, by Ovid, his narrative as well as images of relevant works in the history of art. In the second moment, we mapped the Beckerian bibliographical references, to bring to light the appropriation of the myth of Narcissus by the psychoanalytic practice, and we focused on the work The denial of death: a psychological approach to human finitude, its theoretical foundations and its consequences in the fiftieth anniversary of the first edition, specifically on the issue of narcissism and the balance of libido. It is a spiritual cartography, the unity of a fundamental proposition in the diversity of phenomena and affections. The theoretical body structured in Ernest Becker provides the basis for interpreting the city of São Paulo, specifically in the view of architect Aloysio Becker, my father. At the end, the concept of object is discussed in its psychoanalytic approach of internal object and external object, to contemplate the work Totality and infinity, by Lévinas and the issue of transcendence in Ernest Becker and Aloysio Becker
