Abstract in English
In 1922, at the apex of the Formalist school, Boris Eikhenbaum (1886-1959) published his monograph Young Tolstoy. This was not the first time, nor would it be the last, that the formalist would work with the literary material of the great Russian novelist. In his book, Eikhenbaum analyses a period of Tolstoyan poetics with which we are not used to working: the youth. The Russian critic focuses on Tolstoy's first creative period, in order to reveal, on the one hand, his literary roots and, on the other, the idiosyncrasies of the author's writing process, which would end up outlining his poetics. As a member of the Society for the Study of Poetic Language (OPOYAZ), Eikhenbaum's approach seeks to determine the system of artistic procedures that eventually became characteristic of Tolstoy's work. Our aim, therefore, is, in the light of this Eikhenbaumnian understanding, to describe and present the methods and procedures used by Tolstoy in his initial phase, the effects provoked in his literary work and how they prepare him for the period of writing the biggests novels.
