A presente dissertação reúne três estudos sobre os contos do livro Reza de mãe (2016) de Allan da Rosa. No primeiro, busca-se observar alguns aspectos que caracterizam a prosa do livro. Argumenta-se que o traço mais saliente de seu estilo está localizado no ritmo, que incorpora, no plano técnico-formal, um movimento de resistência e revide originário da relação com as situações materiais das que se parte, e cujo teor se manifesta na convergência recorrente de cenas de humilhação associadas à matéria periférica. Esse fenômeno rítmico é interpretado como a formalização de um procedimento que se enraíza em uma específica tradição expressiva ligada às práticas cotidianas de sobrevivência e luta da população negra periférica. No segundo estudo, comentam-se os três primeiros contos do livro a partir da refuncionalização do motivo do corpo fechado. A partir do comentário analítico de algumas categorias e conceitos importantes para os estudos literários, busca-se interpretar esses contos por meio da noção de short story cycle. Observa-se como a configuração constelar de uma unidade temática revela aspectos importantes sobre as dimensões de desejo, vingança e imaginação política presentes na composição do livro. Por fim, o último capítulo é uma análise e interpretação do conto Unha encravada e o esmalte. A partir dele, tenta-se compreender qual é a figura do corpo político periférico que emerge no conto, cuja montagem compósita dá a ver um quadro heterogêneo e conflagrado, o qual é representativo da periferia contemporânea. Ainda nesse capítulo, tenta-se extrair algumas consequências sociais da interpretação de elementos estético-formais, em nível da organização dos significantes, como o aspecto do tempo verbal em algumas das vozes, e a relação e tratamento do ponto de vista narrativo com as personagens. Mostra-se como o recurso à ironia adotado pelo ponto de vista formaliza uma conduta cuja atuação em relação às personagens é focalizada entre os pares zoados e considerados

The present dissertation brings together three studies on the short stories of the book Reza de mãe (2016) by Allan da Rosa. In the first one, we seek to observe some aspects that characterize the prose of the book. It is argued that the most salient feature of its style is located in the rhythm, which incorporates, on a technical-formal level, a movement of resistance and retaliation originating from the relationship with the material situations from which it departs, and whose content is manifested in the recurrent convergence of scenes of humiliation associated with the peripheral matter. This rhythmic phenomenon is interpreted as the formalization of a procedure that is rooted in a specific expressive tradition linked to the daily practices of survival and struggle of the black peripheral population. The second study is about the first three stories of the book based on the refunctionalization of the motif of the corpo fechado (closed body). Based on the analytical commentary of some important categories and concepts for literary studies, we seek to interpret these tales through the notion of the short story cycle. It is observed how the constellar configuration of a thematic unit reveals important aspects about the dimensions of desire, revenge, and political imagination present in the composition of the book. Finally, the last chapter is an analysis and interpretation of the short story Unha encravada e o esmalte. From it, we try to understand what is the figure of the peripheral political body that emerges in the short story, whose composition shows a heterogeneous and conflicted picture, which is representative of the contemporary periphery. Also in this chapter, an attempt is made to extract some social consequences of the interpretation of aesthetic-formal elements, at the level of the organization of signifiers, such as the aspect of verbal tense in some of the voices, and the relationship and treatment of the narrative point of view with the characters. It is shown how the recourse to irony adopted by the point of view formalizes a conduct whose performance in relation to the characters is focused between the mocked and considered pairs
