Na obra Invenção de Orfeu, do poeta alagoano Jorge de Lima, dêiticos são entrevistos com ressonâncias paradoxais. O presente estudo propõe uma leitura mais detida de alguns poemas, fazendo um recorte de suas representações, marcadas por forte ambivalência, como a catábase e a anábase de imagens e personas pertencentes à tradição, inseridas numa perspectiva moderna e modernista. Nessa trama linguística, são determinantes os mitos fundadores do XVI, as vozes coloniais e os seus negativos, assim como a dissolução de umas em outras. Inquietação, missão, promissão e danação se confundem no imo do sujeito lírico, por meio de sua visão, constituída na busca de uma nova realidade. Vê-se, neste estudo, como os mitos órfico-pitagóricos e judaico-cristãos fundamentam o caráter irracional da obra. A imagem da ilha, nesse tecido poético, apresenta-se mítica, contraditória, objeto de desejo de paz e bonança, mas lúgubre, vazada por pretensões catequéticas cuja missão resulta em crises insolúveis, o teleológico em hermetismo próximo do arbitrário, o histórico em fabulação, a memória em embriaguez e sono. Em suma, vê-se, na presente dissertação, como os elementos imagéticos do livro de Jorge de Lima, por conta de elipses e lacunas recorrentes, fragmentam-se, por vezes, num jogo semântico que quase põe a totalidade significativa do livro a perder.

In Invention of Orpheus, by the Alagoan poet Jorge de Lima, deictics are interviewed with paradoxical resonances. The present study proposes a more detailed reading of some poems, making a cut of their representations, characterized by strong ambivalence, such as katabasis and anabasis of images and personas belonging to tradition and inserted in a modern and modernist perspective. In this linguistic plot, the founding myths of the XVI, the colonial voices and their negatives, as well as dissolution of some ones into other ones are decisive. Uneasiness, mission, promise and damnation are confused in the imo of the lyrical subject, through his vision, constituted in the search for a new reality. This study shows the manner how the Orphic-Pythagorean and Judeo-Christian myths substantiate the irrational character of the work. The image of the island, in this poetic fabric, appears to be mythical, contradictory, object of desire for peace and calm, but lugubrious, trespassed by catechetical pretensions whose mission results in insoluble crises, the teleological in hermeticism close to the arbitrary, the historical in fabulation, memory in inebriation and sleep. In short, this dissertation shows the manner how the imagery elements of Jorge de Lima's book, due to recurring ellipses and gaps, are sometimes fragmented in a semantic game that almost puts the significant entirety of the book to lose.
