This aspect guides us to make an analysis correlated to the formal structure of the novels. The plots of the novels take place in a time of transition. This is when the end of a social structure is not yet fully acknowledged or accepted by other characters. Before the arrival of a new era, anguish and hope, purified in the images of "A menina morta and Nedjma", affect the representation of the landscape in the novels.
