Este estudo propõe-se investigar a representação do elemento narrativo espaço e suas inter-relações com as subjetividades na obra A Cidade de Ulisses (2011) de Teolinda Gersão. A análise buscou debruçar-se sobre como a configuração literária do espaço público, pertinente aos bairros, ruas, equipamentos urbanos e monumentos da cidade de Lisboa, e do espaço privado, este referente à casa, espaço íntimo e de memória do protagonista, é capaz de construir sentidos relacionados às questões identitárias. A pesquisa desenvolveu-se baseada nos conceitos sobre espaço narrativo, identidade, alteridade, memória e representação social do sujeito feminino. Buscou-se apontar que a obra está inserida no contexto da literatura pós-Revolução dos Cravos, na medida em que oferece uma revisitação crítica da história de Portugal, referenciando e confirmando a autora Teolinda Gersão como uma das vozes do grupo de escritores do romance português contemporâneo, que atuam nesse viés questionador da história oficial da nação.

This study proposes to investigate the representation of the narrative element space and its interrelationships with subjectivities in the work A Cidade de Ulisses (2011) by Teolinda Gersão. The analysis sought to focus on how the literary configuration of the public space, relevant to the neighborhoods, streets, urban facilities and monuments of the city of Lisbon, and of the private space, which refers to the house, an intimate space and memory of the protagonist, is capable of to construct meanings related to identity issues. The research was developed based on the concepts of narrative space, identity, alterity, memory and social representation of the female subject. It was sought to point out that the work is inserted in the context of post-Carnation Revolution literature, insofar as it offers a critical revisitation of the history of Portugal, referencing and confirming the author Teolinda Gersão as one of the voices of the group of writers of the Portuguese novel contemporaries who act in this questioning bias of the official history of the nation.
