Este trabalho tem por objetivo uma leitura analítica das crônicas de guerra de Rubem Braga, reunidas no livro Crônicas da Guerra na Itália, publicado em 1945. Dada a magnitude do evento que representou a eclosão da Segunda Guerra Mundial, que teve um caráter decisivo de guerra total, para além da interpretação literária, portanto imanente dos escritos de Rubem Braga, fez-se necessário o recurso a uma ampla gama de estudos de caráter histórico, sociológico, filosófico, dos conceitos da teoria estética, do emprego de clássicos da literatura contemporânea etc. O ponto de partida é que, para além do redesenho geopolítico do planeta, a guerra contra o fascismo, dada a inaudita ferocidade da matança em escala industrial, produziu transformações decisivas no modo de expressão da literatura, das artes em geral e do pensamento

This work aims at an analytical reading of Rubem Braga's war chronicles, gathered in the book Crônicas da Guerra na Itália, published in 1945.
