O livro Ó (2008), de Nuno Ramos, é marcado por uma forte presença de elementos de autorreferencialidade literária especialmente na sua constante reflexão sobre a linguagem. Ainda assim, são notáveis tanto as aparições esporádicas nesta obra de representações sobre questões sensíveis da sociedade brasileira quanto as interpretações de parte de sua recepção pela crítica especializada dos processos de composição utilizados pelo autor como reflexos de problemas sociais. Partindo dessas percepções, essa dissertação tem como objetivo investigar três hipóteses sobre o livro:a) nele, estrutura-se uma defesa de que a boa literatura deve possuir uma posição de relativa autonomia frente aos dramas humanos e às necessidades e implicações dos atos de caráter político; b) tal postura é assumida como um modo de revelar um mundo sobre o qual se pretende ter controle em excesso, ao mesmo tempo em que serve de resistência a tal visão de mundo digamos controladora; c) a defesa da literatura aponta para um momento da obra do autor caracterizado por grande confiança nas formas artísticas e literárias de maior autonomia, que foi sucedida por um período de grande crise social que impeliu os campos artístico e literário, de modo geral, e o próprio autor, de modo particular, a uma abordagem mais comprometida politicamente. A estratégia para conferir tais hipóteses é a leitura detida do texto literário, além do apoio na teoria sobre as formas literárias que compõem o livro no seu hibridismo, preenchendo uma lacuna na fortuna crítica sobre ele

The book Ó (2008), by Nuno Ramos, is marked by a strong presence of literary self-referential elements especially in his constant reflection on language. Even so, both the sporadic appearances in this work of representations of sensitive issues of Brazilian society and the interpretations of part of their reception by specialized critics of the composition processes used by the author as reflections of social problems are remarkable. Based on these perceptions, this dissertation aims to investigate three hypotheses about the book: a) in it, a defense is structured that the good literature must have a position of relative autonomy in the face of human dramas and the needs and implications of political acts; b) such a posture is assumed as a way of revealing a world over which one intends to have excessive control, at the same time that it serves as resistance to such a controlling worldview; c) the defense of literature points to a moment in the author's work characterized by great confidence in artistic and literary forms of greater autonomy, which was succeeded by a period of great social crisis that impelled the artistic and literary fields, in general, and the author himself, in particular, to a more politically committed approach. The strategy to check such hypotheses is the careful reading of the literary text, with the additional support of the theory about the literary forms that concerns the hybridity of the book, filling a gap in the critical fortune about it
