Abstract in English
This work stages a re-approximation of João Gilberto Noll's debut with O cego e a dançarina (1980), interested in the human drama of continuity, understood as a constant questioning about the dwelling in the present; motive that would coincide with the exercise of literature as the art of presence, similar to the performing arts. In favor of this reflection, we highlight two procedures in the first set of short stories: one of tragic quality, based on costly encounters that tend to ecstasy, and another of artificial content, in which fiction approaches the idea of an antidramatic theater that does not abolish expenditure but redirects it to a vicious and apathetic state of bodies. The developments of this last mode support the defense of a post-human call in Noll, considering that such a sense of indifferent presence that blurs the limits between interior and exterior would bring man closer to the notion of thing. Thus, reversing what would be a negative trait, Noll's fiction tries to rediscover the human thanks to the erasure of its exception; find it through the unprecedented and vital forms of dwelling that are possible to experience. The notion of landscape, developed in chapter four through the analysis, in particular, of the novels Harmada (1993), A céu aberto (1996), and Canoas e marolas (1999), would exemplify an advanced point of this process by illuminating the discovery of a continuum between the human and the natural element. As it represents, at a metaliterary level, a complexification of spatiality in the treatment of literature as an art of presence, we expand the terms of critical apprehension of the author, such as the spiral movement. In general, the horizon of habitability synthesizes the desire to think about the nollean investment in speculating, at the same time, the experience through literary imagination and literature as a space of experience.
