O objetivo dessa dissertação é a análise da produção lírica de Manoel de Barros a partir da década de 1960, quando a sua escrita se volta com maior insistência para o próprio fazer poético através do recurso da metalinguagem. O estudo busca examinar neste recurso as implicações técnicas na fatura de sua obra, demonstrando um processo de concepção da linguagem como estrutura e objeto a serem reinventados no espaço da criação literária. Nesse sentido, o trabalho procura correlacionar à execução da metalinguagem tanto o problema da forma na pertinência do gênero lírico na modernidade, quanto os demais temas perseguidos pelo autor: a matéria do abandono e suas práticas, a infância, a natureza e o corpo sob a experiência da marginalidade e do declínio enquanto sentimentos de reinauguração poética.

The purpose of this dissertation is the analysis of the lyrical production of Manoel de Barros from the 1960s onwards, when his writing turned with greater insistence to poetic construction itself through the device of metalanguage. The study aims to examine in this device the technical implications in the making of his poetry, demonstrating a process of language conception as a structure, and an object to be reinvented in the space of literary creation. For that matter, the present work seeks to correlate to the execution of the metalanguage both the problem of form in the relevance of the lyrical genre in modernity, and the other themes pursued by the author: the motif of the abandonment and its practices, childhood, nature and the body, under the experience of marginality and decline as a sentiment of poetic reinvention.
