Este trabalho teve como objetivo investigar as culturas de herança do município de Pedrinhas Paulista, ex-colônia italiana localizada no sudoeste do estado de São Paulo, fundada em 1952. Para tanto, foram empreendidos estudos em duas frentes: a primeira é relativa à análise documental, desde o período de formação da colônia; a segunda refere-se à formação da comunidade de prática Sapori di mamma: storie e ricette. Os participantes envolvidos na pesquisa são membros da segunda e terceira gerações de imigrantes italianos, duas colaboradoras do projeto Italiano como herança e a pesquisadora, residente na ex-colônia há 30 anos. A partir dos resultados da pesquisa documental, mencionam-se: o mapeamento da população da cidade quanto à origem de cada família de imigrante e ao número do(s) lote(s) a elas destinado(s), assim como os dados atuais sobre o número e a identificação das famílias de descendentes que ainda residem na ex-colônia. Quanto aos resultados obtidos com a formação da comunidade de prática, é possível afirmar que a partilha de receitas de família e o uso da língua italiana nos encontros da comunidade de prática contribuíram para reavivar o sentimento de italianidade e de pertencimento, e para estimular o uso da língua tanto no convívio familiar quanto comunitário. Nesse sentido, as comunidades de prática revelaram-se como um importante caminho para a revitalização de línguas e culturas de herança. Os dados foram analisados com base nos conceitos de identidade, cultura de herança, comunidade de prática, lugar e não-lugar. Espera-se que esta pesquisa possa contribuir para a área de ensino de línguas, em especial para estudos sobre revitalização e preservação de línguas e culturas de herança, presentes em comunidades de imigrantes e refugiados

This work aimed to investigate the heritage cultures of the city of Pedrinhas Paulista, a former Italian settlement located in the southwest of the State of São Paulo, founded in 1952. Within this purpose, studies were carried out on two fronts: the first one related to document analysis from the period of formation of the settlement, and the second one refered to the formation of the community of practice Sapori di mamma: storie e ricette. The participants involved in this research are members of the second and third generations of Italian immigrants, two collaborators of the Italiano como Herança Project, and the researcher, who has been living in the former settlement for 30 years. From the results of the document analysis, the following are mentioned: the mapping of the citys population regarding the origin of each immigrant family and the number of the lot(s) destined to them, as well as the current data about number and identification of families of descendants who still reside in the former settlement, and current data about number and identification of families of descendants who still reside in that place. Regarding the results obtained with the formation of the community of practice, it is possible to establish that the sharing of family recipes and the use of the Italian language within the meetings of the community of practice contributed to revitalize the sense of Italianness and belonging, and to stimulate the use language in both family and community life. In that regard, communities of practice proved to be an important way to revitalize heritage languages and cultures. Data were analyzed based on the concepts of identity, heritage culture, community of practice, and place and non-place as well. It is expected that this research can contribute to the field of language teaching, particularly to studies on revitalization and preservation of heritage languages and cultures, present in immigrant and refugee communities.
