Abstract in English
This masters thesis presents the crisis in the construction of female identity in the literatures of Clarice Lispector and María Luisa Bombal. The main objective is to examine the path of the female characters of the two authors, a path marked by family and love relationships, by the domestic environment, by the unfamiliar element and by nature. Through bibliographic research, the analysis aims to understand the points of intersection of the literatures produced by the two authors. Firstly, the theory of Bildungsroman is used, especially the so-called Feminine Bildungsroman, to initiate the dialogue between two works by the authors, Near to the Wild Heart and The Shrouded Woman. Then we enter the natural environment, first in relation to the elements that invade domestic spaces. At this point, we seek to analyze the symbology of this invasion with the help of the Freudian theory of Unheimliche. In the third and final chapter, the objective is to perceive the similarities in the interaction with nature from the theories of Deleuze and Guattari, Maurice Blanchot and Georges Bataille. Throughout the work, we seek to enhance in the works of both the narrative capacity, the poetic aspects of prose and the conversation with fantastic literature and surrealism. The comparative analysis evidences the immersion of the writers in the spirit of the time. Other artists such as Silvina Ocampo, Maria Martins and Ingmar Bergman are brought in to establish a dialogue with the writers. The bibliographic research and the literary analysis result in the understanding that Lispector and Bombal were women immersed in their historical time, characterized by the influence of European avant-gardes, the use of the modern narrator and the discussion about the role of women in society
