Abstract in English
This research brings in to discussion the different discourses conveyed by the food industry and domestic technologies shown in women's newspapers and magazines of the city of São Paulo (between 1880 and 1970). The objective was to analyze the impacts of technology on domestic routine and on social and bodily dynamics of the women in the kitchen space. We also observed the forms of resistance and coexistence between technologies and traditional habits against the innovations brought by the industry in a society that brought rural and urban experiences together and updated the forms of inequality and discrimination born in the slave regime. In this process, special attention was given to the ways in which the growing food industry sought to validate its new practices against traditional knowledge
