Esta pesquisa propõe uma consideração do problema da linguagem na filosofia de Hegel a partir daquele da expressividade. A ideia da expressividade como um ponto focal na superação hegeliana de um absoluto kantiano pode ser justificada, dentre outros textos, pelo conteúdo da seção da Enciclopédia das Ciências Filosóficas dedicada ao conceito de espírito, onde sua determinidade concreta é indicada como sendo autorrevelação. A descoberta da unidade subjetivo-objetiva, por meio da qual o espírito se encontra em unidade diferenciada consigo mesmo e produz-se como um mundo exteriormente presente e racionalmente configurado, é assim a mais alta determinidade espiritual. Expressividade seria, então, um termo geral para o que é mais determinadamente autorrevelação. Mais especificamente, a efetivação dessa determinidade é a identidade entre forma e conteúdo na exposição, o que equivale àquela entre sujeito e objeto, tanto sintática quanto semanticamente. As categorias rígidas da linguística formal colocam, portanto, um obstáculo à organicidade fluida do conceito, que deve, no entanto, por sua própria definição, expor-se ou extrusar-se. Em uma série de momentos, Hegel aponta o signo linguístico ou a linguagem em geral como elemento responsável por elevar essa identidade à idealidade do pensamento. De fato, uma mudança de compreensão na significação linguística é equiparada à diferença entre representar e pensar, e mudar representações em pensamentos como tais se demonstra como sendo a tarefa da filosofia em geral. A expressividade pode, assim, ser ligada ao conceito de linguisticidade [Sprachlichkeit]. Com este objetivo, a dissertação considera a interação hegeliana com as críticas linguísticas em voga à metafísica representativa e a peculiar consistência do tratamento da linguagem ao longo da sua obra, particularmente no terceiro volume da Enciclopédia mas também, mais brevemente, no Texto 58, na Fenomenologia do Espírito e na Ciência da Lógica

This research aims to consider the problem of language in Hegel's philosophy from an expressiveness-centered perspective. The idea of expressiveness as a focal point in Hegels overcoming of a Kantian-like absolute can be justified, among other texts, by the contents of the Encyclopedia of Philosophical Sciences section dedicated to the concept of spirit, where its concrete determination is indicated to be self-revelation. The discovery of the subjectiveobjective unity, through which the spirit finds itself in a differentiated unity and produces or reveals itself as an externally present and rationally configured world, is thus the spirits highest determinity. Expressiveness would then be a general term for what, determinedly, is self-revelation. More accurately, the effecting of that determinity is the identity between form and content in exposition, which corresponds to the identity between subject and object, both syntactical and semantically. The rigid categories of formal linguistics pose, therefore, an obstacle to the fluid organicity of the concept, which must, however, by its very definition, expose or extrude itself. In a series of moments, Hegel points to the linguistic sign or language in general as the element responsible for raising this identity to the ideality of thought. Indeed, a change of understanding in linguistic meaning is equated with the difference between representing and thinking, and changing representations into thoughts as such is shown to be the task of philosophy in general. Expressiveness can thus be linked to the concept of linguisticity [Sprachlichkeit]. With this objective, the dissertation considers Hegel's interaction with the linguistic criticisms in vogue of representative metaphysics and the peculiar consistency of the treatment of language throughout his work, particularly in the third volume of the Encyclopedia but also, more briefly, in the Text 58, the Phenomenology of Spirit and the Science of Logic
