O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar um estudo geométrico dos fenômenos da explosão canard e oscilação de relaxamento no contexto de sistemas dinâmicos rápido-lento suaves por partes. Inicialmente, são introduzidas algumas noções sobre sistemas com duas escalas de tempo e, também, sobre sistemas suaves por partes, além de uma breve apresentação da Teoria Geométrica das Perturbações Singulares, com base nos Teoremas de Fenichel aplicados à sistemas rápido-lento. Posteriormente, é realizada uma discussão do fenômeno de oscilação de relaxamento para sistemas suaves e, na sequência, para o caso suave por partes. Por fim, é apresentado o fenômeno da explosão canard para sistemas suaves e para sistemas de Liénard contínuos suaves por partes.

The aim of this work is to present a geometric study of the relaxation oscillation and canard explosion phenomena in the context of piecewise smooth fast-slow dynamical systems. Initially, some notions about systems with two time scales and about piecewise smooth systems are introduced, besides a brief presentation of the Geometric Singular Perturbation Theory, based on Fenichel's Theorems applied to fast-slow systems. Subsequently, a discussion of the relaxation oscillation phenomenon for smooth systems is carried out and, next, for the piecewise smooth case. Finally, the canard explosion phenomenon is presented for smooth systems and for piecewise smooth continuous Liénard systems.
