Title in Portuguese
Extração de características robustas de superfícies NURBS
Keywords in Portuguese
Características robustas
Curva Ridge
Geometria diferencial.
Reconhecimento facial
Superfícies parametrizadas por B-Splines

Abstract in English
Robust features are points and curves which encode important geometric properties of a surface. Regarding human faces, the nose ridge is an already known robust feature and is used in facial recognition methods. We expect other robust features to advance and improve tools and methods for human faces identification and reconstruction. The aim of this project is to implement an extraction algorithm of ridge curves and umbilic points on NURBS surfaces. We expect this work opens the way for we to have a better understanding of the geometry of human faces in the future.
