This thesis studies the spectrum of the solution operator of a hyperbolic system motivated by a problem in transmission lines and applies the results to get periodic solutions. The two main results are the description of the asymptotic behavior of the semigroup (Theorem 1.5.1.) and Hopf bifurcation theorem for not necessarily holomorphic semigroups (Theorem III.l.).
