Keywords in Portuguese
Ideias fundamentais
Interdisciplinaridade
Língua materna e matemática
Narrativa em matemática

Abstract in English
In teaching aimed at the early years of elementary school, mathematics tends to be further away from interdisciplinary proposals, being more directed to calculations and less to creation, debate, discussion and reflection. This work proposed in a municipal school in São Paulo, which has an unconventional pedagogical project, based on work with study themes and groups of students, without the organization of classrooms, a practice of teaching mathematics linked to the Portuguese language, through the textual genres of the Portuguese language and fundamental ideas of mathematics, traced within a fictional narrative, with the participation of students during their development throughout an academic year. Thus, this research sought to understand and analyze, from a methodological experience of action research, the students' perception of the work of teaching mathematics with this interdisciplinary character, within a narrative created for this purpose. The fictional narrative created, having the proposals for students' work with mathematics linked to it, resulted in a greater engagement of students with mathematics, expanding their perceptions regarding the topics of study pertaining to mathematics and a more active participation in classes, considering that during the application of this research most of the classes were conducted virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic
