Este trabalho tem como propósito central compreender aspectos da construção do conceito de tempo por estudantes do ensino fundamental e médio, a partir do referencial epistemológico de Gaston Bachelard. O estudo principal constou da realização de um total de 17 (dezessete) entrevistas semi-estruturadas. A análise do material permitiu delinear as características mais marcantes do processo de conceitualização do tempo, representado por um caminhar no sentido da objetivação e do racionalismo crescentes. Também foi possível avaliar a pertinência de nosso referencial teórico na interpretação desse processo. Particularmente, as noções teóricas de obstáculo epistemológico e de perfil epistemológico mostraram-se férteis quando confrontadas com os dados da pesquisa empírica.

Abstract in English
The aim of this work is, based on the epistemology of Gaston Bachelard, to understand aspects of the construction of the concept of time by elementary and high school students. The main study consisted of 17 (seventeen) semi-structured interviews. The data analysis allowed outlining the most distinctive characteristics of the conceptualisation of time, a process that could be represented as a movement towards an increasing objectivity and rationalism. It was also possible to evaluate the relevance of our theoretical framework for the interpretation of this process. Particularly, the theoretical notions of epistemological obstacle and epistemological profile were fruitful when confronted against the empirical data.
