A presente dissertação realiza uma investigação do manejo da repetição na clínica psicanalítica. O volume está organizado em três partes. Partindo de uma afirmação do valor do retorno à metapsicologia como método de investigação em psicanálise, a primeira parte explora de que forma o movimento psicanalítico foi amadurecendo a partir dos impasses que a clínica apresenta para o psicanalista e como a repetição surge como um desafio teórico-clínico no artigo Recordar, repetir, elaborar. O estudo desse artigo permite ver ambiguidades no posicionamento de Freud a respeito das formas de interpretar e manejar os fenômenos de repetição na transferência, ambiguidades que indicam a descoberta de um novo campo de fenômenos subjetivos que não operam segundo as leis do princípio de prazer e que dizem respeito às origens da constituição narcísica. A segunda parte é dedicada ao estudo da organização do narcisismo precoce, em que se constata a ampla participação da repetição nos processos psíquicos que fundam o aparelho psíquico, a partir do instante do nascimento e da perturbação econômica que esse acontecimento representa para o psiquismo. Uma vez destacadas as importantes realizações da repetição na arquitetura da mente, salta aos olhos sua dupla função terapêutica: o potencial de comunicação dos conteúdos infantis na transferência e a possibilidade de levar o paciente a regredir a modos mais infantis de relacionamento. Esta segunda será explorada na terceira parte da dissertação que começa com uma reflexão sobre as fronteiras entre adoecimento e a saúde psíquica e sua relação com os fenômenos de repetição. Na sequência, são discutidas as atitudes necessárias para o enfrentamento dos desafiadores momentos regressivos do paciente e para o amadurecimento das modalidades adoecidas de relacionamento, com o objetivo de favorecer que o sujeito possa restaurar a confiança nos objetos do mundo e possa resgatar a tranquilidade de se experimentar passivo numa relação, sem sentir-se ameaçado por aquilo que ele, em função de seu relaxamento, deixou de controlar.

This thesis investigates how repetition is handled in the psychoanalytic clinic. The volume is organized in three parts. The first part begins by affirming the importance of reclaiming metapsychology as a research method in psychoanalysis. It then examines how the psychoanalytic movement has been maturing as a result of the impasses posed to the psychoanalyst by the clinic and how repetition emerges as a theoretical clinical challenge in the article Remembering, Repeating and Working Through ( The study of this article allows us to see the ambiguities in Freuds position on the ways of interpreting and handling the phenomenon of repetition in transference. These ambiguities indicate the discovery of a new field of subjective phenomena that do not work according to the laws of the pleasure principle and are concerned with the origins of the narcissistic constitution. The second part focuses on the study of the organization of early narcissism and confirms that repetition plays a significant role in the psychological processes that lay the foundations of the psychic apparatus from the moment of birth and the economic disturbance that this event represents for the psyche. Once we have highlighted the important effects of repetition on the architect ure of the mind, its twofold therapeutic function stands out: the communicative potential of infantile contents within transference and the possibility of leading the patient to regress to more infantile modes of relationship. The latter will be examined i n the third part of the thesis, which begins with a reflection on the boundaries between illness and psychic health and their relationship with repetition phenomena. Following this, we will discuss the necessary actions for confronting the patients challe nging regressive moments and for the maturation of the diseased modes of relationship, with the aim of helping the subject to restore their trust in the objects of the world and to recover the tranquility of experiencing a passive state in a relationship, without feeling threatened by what they, as a result of their relaxation, have ceased to control.
