O presente trabalho parte da afirmação feita por Jacques Lacan (1972/2003a) ninguém que habite essa língua [a japonesa] precisa ser psicanalisado (p.499) e propõe uma inversão dessa sentença: em vez de verificar a necessidade (ou não) dos japoneses serem psicanalisados, buscamos investigar o que teria levado Lacan a utilizar o tema dos japoneses no contexto teórico e clínico da psicanálise, ou seja, por que a psicanálise teria precisado dos japoneses? Defendemos um olhar que não aponte para uma consistência imaginária acerca dos japoneses, mas para um possível abalo que o diferente, especialmente pela sua escrita, poderia causar no próprio campo psicanalítico. Após um mergulho em algumas especificidades da escrita japonesa, retornamos aos ecos produzidos no campo psicanalítico, com o objetivo de tentar compreender de que forma a escrita japonesa poderia se relacionar com as discussões e inovações apresentadas por Jacques Lacan naquele momento. A partir disso, exploramos alguns recursos expressivos presentes no discurso comum dos japoneses, articulando-os a dois recortes clínicos. Desta maneira, sustentamos que as especificidades encontradas na escrita japonesa, apesar de não estarem presentes cotidianamente nas culturas ocidentais, permitem vislumbrar algo da dimensão teórica e clínica da psicanálise

This research starts from de statement made by Lacan (1972/2003a) - in which he asserts that nobody that inhabits Japanese language needs to be psychoanalyzed and proposes an inversion of this: in instead of verifying the need (or not) of the Japanese of being psychoanalyzed, we aim to investigate what could have led Lacan to use the theme of the Japanese in his theoretical and clinical context of psychoanalysis, that is, why would the psychoanalysis have needed the Japanese? We support a perspective that doesn´t pinpoint an imaginary consistency about the Japanese people, but we point out to a possible undermine that the different, especially the Japanese writing, could cause at the psychoanalytical field. After an immersion into some specificities of the Japanese writing, we returned to the echoes produces by them in the psychoanalytical field, aiming to try to comprehend the way the Japanese writing could relate to the discussions and innovations presented by Jacques Lacan at that moment. From that, we explored some expressive resources existent on the common discourse of the Japanese, articulating them to two clinical aspects. Therefore, we sustain that the specificities found on the Japanese writing, despite not being present on a daily basis of occidental culture, allow us to detect something about the clinical and theorical dimension of the psychoanalysis
