Abstract in English
Engines with variable compression ratio are already reality in the automotive universe and studies indicate that they can improve the efficiency and performance of combustion engines. From this perspective, this dissertation elaborated the modeling and hardware-in-the-loop simulation of a variable compression ratio engine from statics compression rates. The modeling was based on data collected from experiments carried out on the EA111 1.6l engine of the total GOL Flex 2008 vehicle. After each test battery, the motor had either its cylinder head, or the head gasket, or both replaced, to obtain a certain static compression ratio of interest, and then the tests were repeated. Later, the models were validated and implemented in a HIL simulation, operating at different compression rates implemented in the LabCar tool. The simulation was performed in closed loop, to verify the error related to the system response, and open loop, to verify the discrepancy between the reference values and the values acquired by the sensors. Error analysis metrics were used to correlate the results of the simulations made with the values obtained experimentally.
