Muitos estudos dedicados a ligas refratárias são realizados anualmente por suas propriedades especiais em aplicações tecnológicas que operem sob temperaturas elevadas. Este trabalho dedicou-se ao estudo de uma liga refratária em especial, Nb-Ni-Si, para fornecer uma atualização e aprofundamento dos conhecimentos para esta liga de alto potencial. Uma seção isotérmica de seu diagrama de fases foi, por muito tempo, a única fonte de estudos sobre o sistema. Ela foi revista e corrigida. Apontamentos de estudos computacionais contrários ao primeiro estudo experimental foram confirmados neste trabalho experimental para a seção de 1073 K. Além dos resultados da seção de 1073 K, houve um grande avanço nos conhecimentos do sistema na seção de 1323 Ke uma aproximação inicial feita na seção de temperatura de 1473 K, que evidenciou a presença de uma fase ternária estequiométrica ainda desconhecida para o sistema.

Several studies dedicated to refractory alloys are performed annually by their special properties in technological applications operating at elevated temperatures. This work was dedicated to the study of a particular refractory alloy, Nb-Ni-Si, to provide an update and increase of the knowledge for this high potential alloy. An isothermal section of its phase diagram has been the only source of studies of the system for a long time. It has been reviewed and corrected. Results from computer studies contrary to the first experimental study were confirmed in this experimental work for the 1073 kelvin section. In addition to the results of the 1073 Ksection, there was a great advance in system knowledge in the 1323 Ksection and an initial approximation made in the 1473 Ksection, which evidenced the presence of an unknown stoichiometric ternary phase for the system.
