Abstract in English
This work deals with the modelling of flexible rotating shafts. This mathematical model has been utilized for obtaining a group of differential equations which represent the motion, using superposition of the shaft flexible motion over one hypothetical rigid body motion. Equations of agrange has been used for the development of relevant equations and the mathematical model is linearized thus permitting the determination of the natural frequencies of the system. The influence of non-linear terms is also studied through the dynamic simulation of linear and non-linear models. An experiment has been developed for determination and verification of natural frequencies for the proposed system. A comparasion has been made between the experimental and theoretical results obtained by the present investigation and those obtained by other convetional methods.
