Abstract in English
This study examines the stability of a symmetric satellite in a circular orbit, which has a spinning rotor with its axis coinciding with the axis of symmetry of the principal rigid body. The equilibrium points are obtained from the analysis of the Lagrange equations developed for the problem under study. The stability of motion is examined by the Liapunov direct method, with the Hamiltonian taken as a Liapunov function. Six equilibrium positions are detected; three are shown to be stable according to Liapunov's criterion, and the remainder ones do not present a stability character. Nevertheless, it is shown that one of them, by phisical reasons can be considered stable.
