Este trabalho descreve um sistema de análise modal experimental, baseado num microcomputador pc compatível, composto de uma placa de aquisição de sinais, filtros anti-aliasing, amplificadores de sinais, software de processamento de sinais e rotinas de estimação de parâmetros. Poupa-se a compra de um analisador de espectro, componente de elevado custo nos sistemas de análise modal experimental, implementando as rotinas de análise espectral no proprio microcomputador. Traz uma descrição detalhada da interface de aquisição de sinais, dos filtros e das rotinas de processamento de sinais. Apresentam-se resultados do modelo modal de uma viga livre obtido por este equipamento e comparam-se com resultados da literatura.

A system for experimental modal analysis based on an IBM PC compatible computer is presented in this work. It includes a pc-board for signal acquisition, anti-aliasing filter, signal amplifiers and the software for signal processing and parameter estimation. In this way, the purchase of a spectrum analyzer, an expensive component in experimental modal analysis systems, is avoided. The routines for spectral estimation are directly implemented on a microcomputer. Detailed descriptions of the signal acquisition interface, the filters and the routines for signal processing are given. Experimental results of the modal parameters of a free-free beam are obtained and compared with those published in the literature.
