Abstract in English
The purpose of this Project is the development, construction and testing of a system for the measurement of the dynamics contact forces at the wheel/rail interface. A review was made comparing the different systems in use at various countries. This made it possible to develop a new product that is adequate to our conditions. The adopted system consists of two instrumented wheel with straingage bridges, amplifies, slip-rings, A/Ds and a PC type microcomputer for the storage and pos-processing of the signals. To minimize effects of noise, the signals are amplified by conditioners mounted directly on the rotating wheels and, therefore before passing through the slip rings. The instrumented trucks were calibrated statically using electro-hydraulic actuators made by MTS together with the written software. Then, the complete system was tested in the FEPASA on the Campinas-Jundiaí line and the results were highly satisfactory.
