Abstract in English
It is proposed to examine the dimension of libertarian trajectory of the Argentine playwright and essayist Tulio Carella (1912-1979) in the city of Recife, Brazil, between 1960 and 1961. In addition to his teaching of acting at the Federal Uni-versity of Pernambuco, Carellas individual activity in the deteriorated historical urban center, along with his treatment of social classes and sexual genres - ob-jects of strong discrimination at the time -, became known after his prison, tor-ture and deportation by the Brazilian military forces, through the publication of his personal journals, entitled Orgia (1968). The book has since influenced the experimental theatre and culture of Recife.
