Este estudo tem por objetivo investigar as relações entre literatura e biblioteca, a partir de reflexões sobre clubes de leitura, desenvolvidos em bibliotecas da cidade de São Paulo e de Floriano, no Piauí. Pretende-se com isso contribuir para o avanço teórico e metodológico da mediação cultural, entendida como paradigma e prática sociocultural objetivada em dispositivos de mediação cultural, nomeados de clubes de leitura. Atento especialmente aos processos de mediação da leitura literária, o trabalho, cuja opção metodológica é a pesquisa exploratória, contempla dois eixos: a) pesquisa bibliográfica, em que se caracterizam os clubes de leitura; é discutida a problemática da cultura letrada a partir dos termos leitura, literatura e leitura literária e considera a questão de como nosso tempo cultural acelerado reflete sobre bibliotecas, práticas de mediação e sobre a própria literatura e os modos como a lemos; além de abordar três diferentes paradigmas culturais de bibliotecas, ao longo da história, refletindo sobre as categorias do compartilhamento e da escuta como categorias implicadas nos processos de mediação da leitura literária; b) pesquisa de campo, em que se descreve e analisa entrevistas semiestruturadas com mediadores de clubes de leitura, destacando-se visões dos mediadores como a socialização, o sentimento de pertencimento, as relações das bibliotecas com os clubes de leitura, a literatura e a leitura literária, tomadas como fenômenos humanizadores, as relações de poder na mediação de leitura literária nas bibliotecas e as impressões sobre a migração dos encontros presenciais para plataformas virtuais no período pandêmico. Em suas considerações finais, destaca as especificidades dos clubes de leitura organizados em bibliotecas sob a perspectiva do paradigma de mediação cultural.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between literature and library, from reflections on book clubs, developed in libraries in the cities of São Paulo, and Floriano, in the state of Piauí. The intention is to contribute to the theoretical and methodological advance of cultural mediation, understood as a paradigm and sociocultural practice exemplified in cultural mediation devices, called book clubs. Attentive especially to the mediation processes of literary reading, the work, with exploratory research as its methodological option, consists of two axes: a) bibliographic research, characterizing book clubs; discussing the issue of literate culture based on the terms reading, literature, and literary reading, and considering the question of how our accelerated cultural times reflect on libraries, mediation practices and on literature itself, and how we read it; in addition to addressing three different cultural library paradigms, throughout history, reflecting on the categories of sharing and listening as categories involved in the mediation processes of literary reading; b) field research, describing and analyzing semi-structured interviews with book club mediators, highlighting the mediators' views such as socialization, the feeling of belonging, the relationship between libraries and book clubs, literature, and literary reading, taken as humanizing phenomena, power relations in the mediation of literary reading in libraries, and impressions about the migration of face-to-face meetings to virtual platforms in the pandemic period. In its final remarks, the specificities of book clubs organized in libraries from the perspective of the cultural mediation paradigm are highlighted.
