Keywords in Portuguese
Planejamento territorial urbano

Urban territorial planning
Abstract in English
In the analysis of the case - the organized occupation of a group of three slums in Campinas - it is pointed out the intrinsic contraditions of this urban fact, stressed by the dramatic conditions of life the Brazilian people find in these days. Considering the space in study as a construction working area, necessary for the act of living, the conflicts between individual practices of housing and self-organization were deeply and broadly explored. The conclusion of such conflict findly suggests the constitutions of a new political group in the city, represented by those who are occupying the areas, which are able to provide fundamental information for design of future popular settlements.
