Projeto de arquitetura

Abstract in English
This research addresses the relationship between architecture and assembly, in cases where its design, development methodology and production method are based on the use of standardized components and construction techniques, produced at the factory (outside the construction site) and gathered, mainly, by connections, joints and fitting systems. We will start from the analytical study of works by Glenn Murcutt and Marcos Acayaba - architects whose production is observed to be using this design and constructive repertoire consistently - to see how this work strategy conditions the design decisions and the tectonics of the resulting buildings. Based on the assumption that architectural language and mode of production are deeply connected, we intend to investigate, based on case studies, which are the project lines that emerged following the premises set out above and what are their main characteristics, specificities and focal points.
