Esta dissertação se debruça sobre os caminhos adotados por coletivos da sociedade civil para a gestão compartilhada de praças em São Paulo, espaços livres públicos intrínsecos à vida cotidiana e representativos das dinâmicas dos bairros, objetos e meios para a instituição de comuns. Tem por objetivo evidenciar os diferentes arranjos institucionais existentes fornecidos pelo poder público e aqueles criados por atores sociais para a co-gestão local. O estudo empírico pesquisa grupos engajados por e a partir de quatro praças em territórios distintos, com expressivo e frequente convívio de pessoas, através de abordagem imersiva e interativa: a Praça Comendador Manuel de Melo Pimenta, a Praça Rotary, a Praça Marielle Franco e o Parque Fazendinha. A análise é norteada pelo conceito político do comum, compartilhando as experiências estudadas que podem contribuir para o redesenho da governança urbana e a democratização da gestão da cidade.

This dissertation focuses on the paths adopted by civil society collectives for the shared management of squares in São Paulo, open public spaces intrinsic to everyday life and representative of the dynamics of neighborhoods, objects and means for the institution of commons. It aims to highlight the different existing institutional arrangements provided by public power and those created by social actors for local co-management. The empirical study researches engaged groups for and from four squares in different territories, with expressive and frequent interaction of people, through an immersive and interactive approach: Praça Comendador Manuel de Melo Pimenta, Praça Rotary, Praça Marielle Franco and Parque Fazendinha. The analysis is guided by the political concept of common, sharing the studied experiences that can contribute to the redesign of urban governance and the democratization of city management.
