Esta dissertação tem como foco as interfaces do campo disciplinar da arquitetura e do urbanismo com outros campos das ciências humanas, naquilo que diz respeito às percepções, às práticas e às teorias relativas à produção cultural do conceito de Terceiro Mundo. A investigação tem como recorte a trajetória da publicação Spazio e Società, editada pelo arquiteto italiano Giancarlo de Carlo e pela tradutora Giuliana Baracco entre os anos 1978 e 2000. Por meio de suas edições pretende-se verificar em que medida, no âmbito das dinâmicas interdisciplinares da arquitetura, o conceito de Terceiro Mundo trouxe elementos para as tentativas de refundação do campo disciplinar da arquitetura em ambiente Europeu, sobretudo após as adversidades que levaram ao fim dos Congressos Internacionais de Arquitetura Moderna (CIAMs).

This dissertation is focused on the interfaces between the architecture and urbanism disciplinary area and other human sciences areas mainly regarding to the insights, practices, and theories related to the cultural production of the Third World concept. The investigation is framed on the publication path of Spazio e Società, a magazine edited by the Italian architect Giancarlo e Carlo and by the translator Giuliana Baracco between 1978 and 2000. Throughout its editions, we intend to verify to what extent, under the interdisciplinary dynamics of architecture, the concept of Third World brought elements to the attempts of refoundation of the architecture disciplinary area in Europe, especially after the adversities that resulted in the end of the International Congresses of Modern Architecture (CIAMs)
