Abstract in English
The fundamental meaning of this thesis is the use of light as one of the main conditioners in the conceptive process of architectonic projects. It's the autonomous element, which becomes an essential part of architecture by overcoming functional aspects, structuring spaces and shapes, and by defining specific environmental relationships. To prove this thesis, the sorted production of the Modern Brazilian's Architecture developed from the 30's to the 60's has been studied, through thoughts and some pieces of art of the most representative characters: Affonso Eduardo Reidy, Gregori Warchavchik, Jorge Machado Moreira, Irmãos Roberto, Lina Bo Bardi, Lúcio Costa, Oscar Niemeyer, Oswaldo Bratke, Rino Levi and Vilanova Artigas.
