O presente trabalho pretende contribuir com os estudos, na área da arquitetura, através da ocupação como alternativa de moradia. Sendo assim, a pesquisa aborda o nexo entre as dinâmicas familiares, os deslocamentos habitacionais investigados a partir das trajetórias urbanas de mulheres, que saíram de uma situação de rua para a Ocupação Mauá, localizada no centro de São Paulo e ainda analisa a gestão interna de três movimentos sociais dentro do edifício. Tomando como base a realização de uma pesquisa multi-metodológica que mistura o método histórico, documental e etnográfico, tais articulações exemplificam o trabalho de campo a partir das trajetórias de vidas improvisadas, que envolvem a arte de perambular, na mudança e permanência de uma ocupação a outra, pela incessante espera de uma Habitação de Interesse Social (HIS), que contemple a faixa econômica das famílias em estudo. Dessa forma, a dissertação delineia o antigo Hotel Santos Dumont, que ficou abandonado por mais de 20 anos e tornou-se habitação improvisada para as famílias na Ocupação Mauá que contornam a precariedade. Além disso, o documentário Ocupa Mauá contribuiu para a dissertação, serviu como ferramenta metodológica e auxiliou no contornamento da pesquisa devido ao vírus Sars-CoV-2, principalmente na prospecção de entrevistas. A pesquisa estabelece, assim, um diálogo sobre a arte do contornamento, afetação e sensibilidade, percursos em ocupações, nas dobras do legal e do ilegal, traçado pela história do antigo Hotel Santos Dumont, a fim de entendê-lo de fora (pela rua) para dentro (o edifício).

The present work intends to contribute to the studies, in the area of architecture, through the occupation as a housing alternative. Thus, the research addresses the nexus between family dynamics, housing displacements investigated from the urban trajectories of women, who left a street situation for the Ocupação Mauá, located in the center of São Paulo and also analyzes the internal management of three social movements within the building. Taking as a basis the realization of a multi-methodological research that mixes the historical, documentary and ethnographic method, such articulations exemplifies the fieldwork from the trajectories of improvised lives, which involve the "art of wandering", in the change and permanence from one occupation to another, by the incessant waiting for a Social Interest Housing (HIS), which contemplates the economic range of the families under study. Thus, the dissertation outlines the former Hotel Santos Dumont, which was abandoned for more than 20 years and became improvised housing for such families in Ocupação Mauá for circumvent precariousness. In addition, the documentary Ocupa Mauá contributed to the dissertation, served as a methodological tool and helped to circumvent the research due to the Sars-CoV-2 virus, especially in the prospecting of interviews. The research thus establishes a dialogue on the art of "circumvention", affectation and sensitivity, paths in occupations, in the folds of the "legal and the illegal", traced by the history of the former Hotel Santos Dumont, in order to understand it from the outside (through the street) to the inside (the building).
