Abstract in English
Informality has been present since the beginning of the formation process of Latin American cities, mainly in the popular layers, and in the scope of this research we are interested in those related to land, work and roof. From the deepening on the subject, a correlation between such informalities and the advance of neoliberal rationality was observed. Thus, from two case studies, Brazil and Argentina, the research sought to understand how the informalities of these 3 central elements in the organization of working class life are related to the construction of this rationality in a dialectical way. The qualitative research used semi-structured interviews and participant observation and demonstrated the main manifestations of informality in each object of study and its consequent impacts on individuals, who have as a common denominator their collaboration in the process of deterioration of the material conditions of the working class , which meets neoliberalism's need to undermine the reproduction of life in order to advance the neoliberal discourse of building a new rationality and a new subject.
