Abstract in English
This dissertation analyzes the different ways of the social insertion of the art experimented by some groups and alternative spaces in the city of New York between the 1960s and 1980s. In particular: George Maciunas Cooperative Fluxhouses (1966-1975); 112 Greene Street/Workshop (1970-1979), Food restaurant (1971-1974) and Avalanche (1970-1976) magazine from SoHo resident artists; Andy Warhols studio / company called Factory (1962-1984); Alanna Heisss P.S.1 Center for Contemporary Art (1976-); and Times Square Show (1980), organized by Colab group. For this, this work covers the political, economic, urban and social context to which they are inserted and immerses itself in the particular issues of each space - its desires, agents and target audience; their types of production, management and subsistence; its ambitious and plural ways of understanding a link between art and society. Through the multifaceted study on this empirical object, the work points to a decisive moment of the restructuring of the circuits and spaces of production, dissemination, discussion and leisure, that go beyond the artistic field.
