A química de compostos organoselênio e organotelúrio têm recebido muita atenção devido às características peculiares dos átomos de selênio e telúrio. As aplicações em química orgânica tornam-se cada vez mais freqüentes, com alguns desses reagentes realizando transformações únicas. Nesta brochura são descritos os resultados referentes organoteluro cetonas, teluretos vinílicos, selenociclopropanos, 1-halo-1-calcogeno alcenos e ceteno calcogenoacetais mistos, estudados em nosso laboratório. Reações de ciclofuncionalização também são relatadas empregando compostos 1,3-dicarbonílicos e reagentes de selênio, telúrio e iodo. Outros tópicos focos deste trabalho são a síntese de diidroprimidinonas e a síntese de produtos naturais, tais como, os ácidos montipóricos A e B e a muricadienina.

The chemistry of organoselenium and organotellurium compounds has received much attention due to the peculiar characteristics of the atoms of selenium and tellurium. Applications in organic chemistry become increasingly frequent, with some of these reagents performing unique transformations. This brochure describes the results of organoteluroketones, vinyl tellurides, selenocyclopropanes, 1-halo-1-alkenes and mixed ketene chalcogeno chalcogenoacetals, studied in our laboratory. Cyclofunctionalization reactions are also reported using 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and reagents of selenium, tellurium and iodine. Other topics focus of this work are dihydropyrimidinones and of natural products synthesis such as A and B Montiporic acids and muricadienine.
