Projeto desenvolvido nos campos da Biblioteconomia e da Ciência da Informação. Pretende verificar as políticas públicas do livro, leitura e biblioteca existentes em Portugal, estudando o conceito do Programa de Rede de Bibliotecas Escolares de Portugal (PRBE), seu modelo, suas características, sua estrutura organizacional, seu funcionamento, seu contexto de atuação e o uso do projeto político pedagógico como recurso educacional. A partir de um método dedutivo, a pesquisa - de caráter exploratório, descritivo, qualitativo e de análise documental - permite identificar as particularidades, oportunidades e dificuldades de inserção do bibliotecário nas redes de biblioteca escolar no Brasil e as singularidades dos profissionais portugueses. A pesquisa busca ainda apresentar convergências e divergências entre as políticas públicas culturais e educacionais do Brasil e de Portugal, discutindo hipóteses sobre uma possível aplicação e implantação de um padrão a partir da experiência do PRBE em redes de bibliotecas escolares brasileiras.

Project for developed in the fields of Librarianship and Information Science. It intends to verify the public policies for book, reading and library which exist in Portugal, studying the concept of the School Libraries Network Program (PRBE) of Portugal, its model, its characteristics, its organizational structure, its operation, its context of action and the use of the pedagogical political project as an educational resource. Based on a deductive method, the research - of exploratory, descriptive and qualitative approach and of documentary analysis - allows to identify the particularities, opportunities and difficulties of insertion of the librarian in the school library networks in Brazil and the singularities of the Portuguese professionals. The research also seeks to present convergences and divergences between the cultural and educational public policies of Brazil and of Portugal, discussing hypotheses about a possible application and implantation of a pattern from the PRBE's experience into the Brazilian school libraries networks.
