Abstract in English
In a highly competitive market, one of the ways for pharmaceutical companies to improve their Supply Chain Management (SCM) programs, to reduce their demand problems and bullwhip effect insupply chain, is through the sharing of accounting information, also known as open-book accounting, one of the tools used for Interorganizational Cost Management (ICM). However, according to previous studies, it is observed that the adoption of the practice of sharing information by companies is unfeasible due to the low adherence to the relationship factors of the ICM - such as trust, partnership, reciprocal sharing and cooperation. Nevertheless, it is observed that such factors could be made possible with the use of Blockchain technology, due to its ability to make information more secure and reliable. Thereby, this research searched to assess the perception of professionals in the pharmaceutical industry supply chain regarding the adoption of accounting information sharing practices, combined with the adoption of new technologies such as Blockchain. The results obtained demonstrate that - despite the belief by supply chain professionals that Blockchain technology can positively influence the conditioning factors, at the relationship level, and that although some companies share managerial information, knowledge about the functionality and application of this new technology, especially regard to information sharing concept, it is still very incipient. This study is justified not only by the necessity of pharmaceutical companies in reduce their demand problems, but also in order to contribute to the management accounting field, oncethere are few articles that relate sharing of accounting informationlinked to the use of new technologies such as Blockchain in their Supply Chain Management (SCM) programs.
