As diversas formas de manifestação da violência no contexto escolar são uma fonte de grande preocupação para membros das comunidades escolares e gestores públicos. A aplicação de instrumentos da Justiça Restaurativa nas escolas tem crescido em diversos países, com o objetivo de apresentar uma abordagem não-retributiva para a resolução de conflitos e prevenir as ocorrências de violência. Este trabalho apresenta uma avaliação de impacto do programa restaurativo Caxias da Paz sobre a percepção da violência por parte de docentes e diretores das escolas do município de Caxias do Sul entre 2013 e 2017. As estimativas geradas pelo modelo matched difference-in-differences indicam ausência de efeito estatisticamente significativo do programa sobre a percepção de violência escolar de diretores e professores, capturadas por meio de variáveis e indicadores sintéticos construídos a partir de dados da Prova Brasil.

School violence manifests itself in many forms, constituting a source of great concern among school communities and policy-makers. In many countries, the use of instruments inspired by restorative justice philosophy has been on the rise. These interventions aim to provide a different approach to conflict resolution, setting retributive measures aside, and to prevent school violence acts. This work provides an impact evaluation of a restorative program intervention in Caxias do Sul, Brazil, on school violence perception outcomes reported by teachers and school principals between 2013 and 2017. The matched differencein-differences estimates indicate no significant causal effects on teachers' and principals' perception of school violence, measured by variables and synthetic indexes built from the Prova Brasil dataset.
