No panorama da prática artística em rede, a tese, a partir das obras "We feel fine" de Jonathan Harris e Sep Kamvar de 2006, "Pam" de Mark Napier de 2009 e "New Portrait" de Ricard Prince de 2015, investiga o contexto atual apropriado pela Internet e sua estreita ligação entre a atualização tecnológica e a mediação de uma realidade percebida, representada e simulada, que corresponde aos elementos simbólicos em circulação na rede e seu potencial de edificar os processos de imaginação. A tese apresenta uma compilação de produções artísticas referentes à tecnologia digital exemplificando diferentes possibilidades expressivas permeadas por implicações geopolíticas e sociais e suas perspectivas futuras. Destaca-se a relação entre conteúdo e forma decorrentes dos trânsitos on-line e da parametrização formal de produções artísticas obtidas pela reconfiguração de dados em rede, na qual os códigos simbólicos, os textos e as imagens circulam pela estrutura de indexação e recuperação de termos das arquiteturas de banco de dados. Esse fluxo de dados torna-se, assim, matéria-prima de práticas artísticas em seus aspectos polissêmicos, com potencial de afirmar as expressões subjetivas múltiplas e os contramovimentos pela apropriação tecnológica.

In the panorama of network artistic practice, the thesis, based on the works "We feel fine" by Jonathan Harris and Sep Kamvar from 2006, "Pam" by Mark Napier from 2009 and "New Portrait" by Ricard Prince from 2015, investigates the current context appropriated by the Internet and its close connection between technological updating and the mediation of a perceived, represented and simulated reality, which corresponds to the symbolic elements circulating on the network and its potential to build the processes of imagination. The thesis presents a compilation of artistic productions referring to digital technology, exemplifying different expressive possibilities permeated by geopolitical and social implications and their future perspectives. The relationship between content and form arising from on-line transits and the formal parameterization of artistic productions obtained by the reconfiguration of network data is highlighted, in which symbolic codes, texts and images circulate through the structure of indexing and retrieval of terms of database architectures. This flow of data thus becomes the raw material for artistic practices in their polysemic aspects, with the potential to assert multiple subjective expressions and countermovements due to technological appropriation.
