Abstract in English
The present research reflects on the historiographical and artistic issues in the collection A Costura do Invisível by Brazilian stylist Jum Nakao. It was presented in 2004 at the biggest fashion event in Latin America, São Paulo Fashion Week. Nakao's inspiration comes from a collection made of paper, a milestone in Brazilian fashion and a watershed in his professional career. The creative process and the development of an authorial artisanal technique, the second skin, are the focus of this question. Since the collection emerged as a response to an industrial production system that was and continues in progress. Through a methodology called cartography of the invisible, traces of the memory of this collection are investigated, which had some answers, but appeared much more questions. What is the role of Fashion through Jum Nakao's work? What is the importance of this collection in the context of Brazilian fashion? The importance of this study arises in areas that goes beyond the theme Fashion and art, as it brings a reflection mainly in the philosophical and sociological sense of the path of clothes. It brings us closer to Professor Gilda de Mello e Souza's concepts. She is the inspiration and main theoretical reference with the stylist Nakao
