A presente pesquisa tem como eixo de discussão o vínculo entre a natureza social da educação escolar e a reprodução do capital no México e no Brasil, entre 1930 e 1980. Seu objetivo central é analisar como, historicamente, a particularidade das relações sociais de produção na América Latina, sob a condição de dependência, condicionaram os avanços e os limites da educação básica, mesmo nas economias mais industrializadas do subcontinente, como é o caso da economia brasileira e mexicana. Para tanto, adotamos o método de uma pesquisa documental que nos permitiu a realização de um estudo comparado, no qual também revisitamos a historiografia, a legislação educacional e os projetos econômicos de cada país. E mediante uma análise baseada no materialismo histórico e dialético, referencial teórico que assumimos a partir de sua contribuição trotskista - a lei do desenvolvimento desigual e combinado, o principal resultado obtido por essa pesquisa, é que a educação escolar segue como uma tarefa democrática não cumprida pelo desenvolvimento capitalista dependente no México e no Brasil, bem como na totalidade dos países latino-americanos.

This research focuses on the link between the social nature of school education and the reproduction of the capital in Mexico and Brazil, between 1930 and 1980. Its central objective is to analyze how, historically, the particularity of the social relations of production in Latin America, under the condition of dependence, conditioned the advances and the limits of basic education, even in the most industrialized economies of the subcontinent, as is the case with the Brazilian and Mexican economy. To this end, we adopted the method of a documentary research that allowed us to carry out a comparative study, in which we also revisited the historiography, educational legislation and economic projects of each country. And through an analysis based on historical and dialectical materialism, a theoretical reference that we assume from its Trotskyist contribution - the law of unequal and combined development, the main result obtained by this research, is that school education follows as a democratic task unfulfilled by dependent capitalist development in Mexico and Brazil, as well as in all Latin American countries.
