Esta dissertação busca identificar e descrever aproximações e divergências entre as produções plásticas de Frida Kahlo (México, 1907 1954) e de Ismael Nery (Brasil, 1900 - 1934). Esta comparação baseou-sena leitura de algumas obras plásticas de ambos os artistas, levando-se em consideração dados biográficos, declarações e escritos dos dois artistas enfocados. This dissertation seeks to identify and describe the similarities and divergences between Frida Kahlo's (Mexico, 1907-1954) and Ismael Nery's (Brazil, 1900-1934 ) artworks. This comparison based frem was the observance of some artworks of both artists, considering their biographic data, as well as their statements and writings. With this goal, three basic themes have been identified as being explored by both Frida and Nery: visions of the self; injured body and fusion with the other
