Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal entender o cotidiano do Instituto de Física após a reforma universitária, onde a Física deixa de ser um departamento na FFCL e passa a ser um Instituto. Foi escolhido o recorte histórico de 1968 até a Lei da Anistia. O ano de 1968, também conhecido como o ano que não acabou, foi muito marcante tanto para a sociedade brasileira quanto para outros países do mundo. A ditadura que aconteceu no Brasil entre 1964 e 1985 é um episódio histórico extremamente rico, com vários estudos, controvérsias e discussões acerca do mesmo. Tal estudo foi realizado a partir de fontes obtidas no acervo histórico do instituto, atas de congregação e entrevistas realizadas com alguns professores, alunos e funcionários da época. Foi possível revelar, entre outras coisas, formas de opressão realizadas no ambiente universitário e compreender como diferentes agentes, em especial estudantes, atuavam em sua militância contra a ditadura.

This work has as its main objective to understanding of the daily life of the Institute of Physics after the university reform, where Physics is no longer a FFCL department and becomes an Institute. The historical clipping from 1968 until the Amnesty Law was targeted. The year 1968, also known as the year that didn't end, was very important both for Brazilian society and for other countries around the world. The dictatorship that took place in Brazil between 1964 and 1985 is an extremely rich historical episode, with several studies, controversies and discussions about it. This study was carried out based on sources obtained from the institute's historical collection, congregation minutes and interviews with some teachers, students and employees at the time. It was possible to reveal, among other things, forms of oppression carried out in the university environment and to understand how different agents, especially students, acted in their militancy against the dictatorship.
