Abstract in English
In this dissertation we present a study that aims, from a historical-cultural perspective, to outline a theoretical model for teaching electromagnetism. In order to achieve this conciliation between the historical-cultural perspective, the teaching of physics and electromagnetism, we used the theory of developmental teaching and the instruments it has to understand the use and formation of theoretical concepts and theoretical thinking. The theory created by Vigotski and expanded with important contributions from collaborators until culminating in a new object of analysis proposed by Davydov helped us in the search for a broader understanding of the teaching process. As motivation for this approach, we conducted a literature review on the teaching of electromagnetism through works published in the main national journals. In this review, we noted that attempts at dialogue between Davydov's theory and the teaching of physics are rare, and with the teaching of electromagnetism they are non-existent. Furthermore, we realize that the concepts of historical-cultural theory that underlie electromagnetism teaching practices are mainly related to the mediating role of the teacher. Subsequently, we delved into the logical and historical aspects of genesis and the development of important concepts for the current understanding of electromagnetism. From this, we were able to elaborate a synthesis of the essential concepts that structure the classic electromagnetic phenomena: movement, variation and interaction. Finally, we investigated a situation of analysis of these concepts, concretizing them in the generation, transmission and use of electric energy. The main conclusion of this work is a first proposition of a theoretical model. Finally we advocate the possibility of a dialogue between Davydov's theory and the teaching of Physics in general, and electromagnetism in particular, in order to promote theoretical thinking in students.
